To achieve the efficient utilization of rural rooftop photovoltaics, this study explores the construction of a new rural power system and financing models in the context of the promotion of new energy vehicles in rural areas. It analyses financing methods such as rooftop leasing, financial leasing, and solar power purchase agreement (PPA) business models, and compares their advantages and risks. The results indicate that rural rooftop resources are abundant and are the key to achieving carbon neutrality. A reasonable financing model can promote the development of photovoltaics, increase the rate of self-sufficiency in electricity, and enhance economic returns. This paper can provide application recommendations for financing models to policymakers and businesses, supporting the sustainable development of the new rural power system.
